I know these are middle grade reads, but they are both amazing stories that have stuck with me since I read them in middle school. Both were highly enjoyable and I've read them again since. I can't wait to share these books with my daughter.  Both series are great!

I know what you're thinking, "But these aren't even the same genre!". No, they're not, but that doesn't mean that you won't like both of them. I did! Yes, one is a contemporary setting and the other is steampunk with paranormal aspects, but hey! Both are about schools that are training their all female attendees some very specific skills for some very sneaky roles. I think that they are very similar, even though they are very different. Both are excellent reads! So you should definitely give them some consideration!

I really enjoyed both of these stories! We get to revisit stories we grew up with or that we already know well and see them in a brand new light with wonderfully inventive twists and daring new details :). If you haven't given the re-telling thing a try yet, I strongly recommend that you do!

I loved both of these series.  I am considering them as series mainly when comparing them as well.  I know The Worlds of Chrestomanci are more for younger readers (maybe 9-12) but I loved them growing up and they are some of the first books I remember reading.  When I was reading Divine by Mistake I couldn't help but be reminded.

I know, I read a lot of dystopians. I finally got around to Article 5 and it's pretty awesome! I can't wait for the rest of the series to come out!! I might have even liked it more than The Hunger Games!

I love both of these books in large amounts. While they might not be a whole lot alike, they do carry the same kind of light vs dark atmosphere with amazingly well developed characters and a plot line that will leave you reeling. If you are into paranormal, I'm pretty positive you will love both of these :).

 When I think of Faery books, these are always the two I immediately think of!  Both are awesome in their own right and have amazing characters.  I own both of these series and I am so glad I do.

These were both books that I thoroughly enjoyed and while they are both very different from each other, they still have many similarities and if you like one, you'll most likely like the other. Amazing page turners, both of them!

I read these two books pretty close together and as far as Contemporary goes I'd probably say they are some of my favorites. They both capture the angst and struggle of being a teen and finding your place in the world pretty perfectly. And although they are alike in many ways, they are also very different. But I'm sure you'll enjoy both if you give them a try :)

I absolutely LOVED both of these! Both are books that I was completely unable to put down and I feel that readers who enjoy one of them, will like the other.

I know that we have done a few comparisons to The Hunger Games, but who can refuse more stories like it? The Hunger Games is amazing and The Selection is The Hunger Games without the killing and with speed dating.  Who can argue with that? :)

Oh yes, both of these are hilarious at points! I really enjoyed both and I think that there are quite a few similarities between them, So if you liked one, chances are, you'll like the other!

If you are into the Faerie thing, these books should be at the top of your list. And don't forget the recommend works both ways! If you read Lament and liked it then you should try the Iron Fey series. They are both magically incredible and they'll have you addicted and begging for more :)

These are both super-awesome books that are action-filled with girls who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty and jump right into a battle.  Both can be head-strong but they want to do the right thing.

Plus, I love both series!

I really enjoyed both of these! I have a huge love of historical settings. I know, I know, love triangles.. these ones are done well though!!

Both of these books are amazing, and both of them are pretty high in my list of favorite books. Which is definitely getting longer all the time. But if you are a dystopian fan, both of these books should be on your to-read list. And as the picture above says, if you liked The Hunger Games (and I haven't met anyone yet who hasn't) then I'm pretty sure you are going to also enjoy the Long Walk. Stephen King is  one of my all time favorite authors, and I love pretty much all of his books, but this is one of his best and I have recommended it to quite a few people and always got good feedback :). So that's my thoughts! If you read it, I hope you like it! :D

I love both of these series (Harry Potter and Percy Jackson and the Olympians).  They are not quite YA to start with (both are 12) but they certainly become so as Harry and Percy grow and learn.  Whether they were YA or not, they are definitely worth the time - but I am sure most of you have read Harry Potter already.  If you are looking for a kick-butt, smart-mouthed Potter with a sword and Greek Gods, Percy is for you! :)
