It seemed that everything had gone quiet around us. No noise came from the busy path. Even the birds seemed to have stopped chirping. There was only the heat. And the silence. My Thoughts: This is one of the hardest books I have ever read, emotionally. But still, it is an incredibly good story. Even if it does break your heart into a million pieces.
I think I saw the movie....this one sounds like a good read.
ReplyDeleteHere's MY TUESDAY MEMES POST
I didn't know it was a movie! I will have to look into that. Thanks for stopping by :)
DeleteThat's a really atmospheric extract. I have heard so many good things about this book. One day I shall sit down, let it tear my heart right open, then do the movie adaption with snacks and my mum. :-)
ReplyDeleteI didn't know until now there was a movie. I actually read this book because my mother insisted that I must. It was hard honestly, but I am glad that I did get through it! Now I'll have to give that movie a go.
DeleteSuch a good story!! I remember I was reading something else and picked this one up to bring with me to my husband's hockey game by accident (yeah, I don't watch the game ...). I was intially ticked off, but once I got into the story I couldn't put it down! I'd recommend watching the movie after, too. It's great!
ReplyDeleteYhea, at the beginning I kept asking myself; why am I reading this?! This is devastating and it's killing me. But I did carry on and I am really glad that I didn't give up on it. Great story.
DeleteSounds like an intense moment. Come see my teasers for Whiskey Beach by Nora Roberts and The Pirate's Wish by Cassandra Rose Clarke. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteIt definitely was ;). Thanks for stopping by and sharing!
