Teaser Tuesday (36)

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by  MizB at Should be Reading

To Participate you:
-Grab your current read
-Open to a random page
-Share two 'teaser' sentences from somewhere on that page
-BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS

This week's teaser comes from:

Kiss of the Butterfly

Author: James Lyon

GoodReads

Teaser:

" In fact there are days I wonder if Vampires might actually have once existed. Sounds silly, doesn't it, but after a while the sheer weight of historical evidence makes one begin to wonder. How can there be so many consistent reports of a supposedly mythological phenomenon that keep occurring up to the present day?"

My Thoughts: This is definitely a new way of reading about vampires for me. This book is packed with knowledge  and written in a very sophisticated way. An interesting read for sure! I'm curious to see how it all plays out!

    1. Dear Nash,

The cover was created by the London-based designer David Grogan, who has made many best-seller covers for major publishing house. He designed an alternate cover for "Kiss of the Butterfly", which you can find here at the "Kiss" facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=385935394751338&set=a.385935388084672.96469.203838056294407&type=3&theater

      Which do you like best?

I can promise that after reading "Kiss" you'll never look at a butterfly in the same way. But rest assured, the book isn't gory. Rather, it is meant to be eerily spooky in the same manner as Bram Stoker's Dracula...a hint of mystery, mixed with a dash of romance, adventure, and human characters caught in unusual situations. Oh...and there just might be the occasional vampire or two.

      Best

      James

  5. My wife tells me that if they ever make a movie out of "Kiss of the Butterfly", she wants the character of Slatina to be played by either Ryan Gosling or Benedict Cumberbatch (British actor who plays Sherlock Holmes in the 2010 BBC series "Sherlock").

  6. This book cover is one of the most interesting ones I've seen. Eyes, butterfly wings, and a guy with a gun going down a dark passage! Good teaser too.
