"Waiting On" Wednesday (9)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we are eagerly awaiting.

The Selection
by Kiera Cass
Expected Publication: April 24th, 2012

Goodreads Summary: For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in the palace and compete for the heart of the gorgeous Prince Maxon.

But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.

Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself- and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.

I just think that this book sound really interesting. Kind of like The Bachelor, which is weird because I don't watch TV much, and definitely not The Bachelor or any reality TV when I do. Also, the cover is just so pretty!

  1. Great choice! This one is coming out soon, I believe. (And I totally agree... no reality TV. Ever. blech. I do love watching Once Upon a Time though.)

  4. I know that many people won't give this book a chance because of some unpleasant events... but I think I will check it out if CW decides to make a tv show out of it. ;D And the cover is just gorgeous!

    1. Yeah, so much drama, but then, it gives the book free publicity, not the best publicity, but still! I love the cover :)

  5. I'm so glad that this is your WOW for this week! <3 There's so much negativity surrounding this book, but I've talked a little bit to the author and she's just so sweet and I don't think her book deserves it at all! That's why I'm super excited to get my hands on a copy of it too -- it sounds like it'd be such a blast to read! Plus, that cover is stunning! :)

Amazing pick for your WOW, Jenn! <3

    1. Thank you :)
I had heard about all the drama that was going on, but I don't really pay attention to it. If someone says something is bad, I'm more likely to go read it and see for myself. I think that people nitpick every little thing rather than just read and enjoy. So that's what I'm going to do, read and enjoy.
      Thanks for visiting :)

We are now an Award free blog. We love getting them and appreciate that you thought of us, but we really don't have the time to commit for the requirements of getting them.
